Utah's not just lines on a map, folks. It's a tapestry of communities, each with its own character and concerns. Our current districts ensure that whether you're tilling the soil in Sanpete County or coding the next big app in Silicon Slopes, your voice matters. But there are forces at work trying to silence some of us, and I won't stand for it.

Let me break it down for you. Redistricting isn't just some wonky political exercise – it's about who gets heard in the halls of power. Right now, our districts blend urban and rural voices, forcing politicians to listen to all Utahns, not just cherry-pick their voters.
Out-of-State Interests
But here's the kicker: we've got out-of-state interests pouring millions into Utah, trying to redraw our maps to serve their agenda. They want to pack all of Salt Lake County into one district, effectively silencing conservative voices in our capital and tilting the scales in future elections.
Power Grab
It's a power grab, plain and simple, and it's happening right under our noses.

Current District Model
I'll tell it to you straight – I'm fighting to keep our current district model. It's not perfect, but it's a darn sight better than letting coastal elites decide how we divvy up our state.

First off, our current setup ensures that each of Utah's congressional representatives has to listen to both city folk and rural communities. That balance is crucial. It means when decisions are being made in Washington, Utah's agricultural heartland has just as much say as our urban centers.

Secondly, I'm all for letting the people have their say, but we've got to be smart about it. These ballot initiatives for "independent" redistricting commissions? They sound nice on paper, but they're wolves in sheep's clothing. They're backed by the same out-of-state interests trying to remake Utah in their image.
